The organic hotel Kaufmann is calmly situated at Ora, nearby the doors of the biotope "Castelfeder". Our location is an ideal starting point from which to explore the South Tyrolean countryside, but some of our guests find they simply wish to enjoy the unique atmosphere and activities offered in our residence. Just 100 meters from the hotel there begins many walking paths in all directions and altitudes. For example to the beautiful hills of Castelfeder, where you'll find the roman ruins of 600 a.c. Back then the whole valley was a swamp. Today these hills are under natural conservation and a place of relaxation and excursions for all the nature lovers. Ora is situated in the south of South Tyrol at 250 meters over the sea level. It's just 18 kilometers to the region's capital Bolzano. Ora is a beautiful and calm town, where old mansions and stately courtyards, cured vineyards and a labyrinth of small roads give the romantic and authentic atmosphere to the town.
In addition to this the central position of the town offers the possibility to reach most of the sights of the region in short time: Bolzano, the Dolomites, the lake of Caldaro, the lakes of Monticolo and the "Bletterbach"-Canyon and much more... on request we'll send you of course more information about our hotel, the surroundings and activities of the south of South Tyrol.
You have the possibility to rent a bicycle at the tourist office, which is situated only 300 meters from the hotel. We dispose of a garage in the basement, where you can let your bike or car overnight.
Since January 2009, when the first part of the bypass, the town of Ora is much more calm and less trafficking by cars.
